Want a therapist you don’t have to explain your identity to?

Do you need a space where you can just be yourself and chat about who you are without judgment? When you’re seeking support, the last thing you should worry about is having to explain your identity to your therapist. You deserve a therapist who not only comprehends and embraces your authentic self but also respects the unique experiences you bring to the table.

Whether you’re in search of a therapist who shares your identities and is part of the same community as you or you’re dealing with the complexities of coming out to your family or embarking on the journey of transitioning, our team is here to support you every step of the way. We are here to help you navigate your queer journey, whether it’s about understanding, accepting, or exploring your identities. In therapy, we can guide you in embracing the real, unfiltered you.

What is Gender Affirming Care?

Whether you’re trans, non-binary, questioning, or anywhere on the gender spectrum, this therapy is about helping you feel comfy in your skin. It’s a safe spot to explore your feelings, address any challenges or fears, and get guidance on the path that’s right for you.

The challenges you face as part of the LBGTQ+ community can affect you in a very real way. Here are some of the most common challenges we can address in therapy:

Repeatedly told to be different or “normal” can take a toll on how you view yourself and the world around you.
Constantly being told to “fit-in” or be “normal” can seriously mess with how you feel about yourself.
Struggling to know who you really are in the midst of it feeling like the expectations of others are trying to shape you into something you’re not.
Frequently feeling misunderstood or undervalued by society, while also facing genuine risks because of your identity.
That vibe when you’re scared that being your true self will stick you in the “outsider” category.
The sickening feeling that the fam might turn their backs if they see the real you.
The extra weight of marginalization gets heavy and can have a significant impact on your confidence and self-esteem.
The daily tiny jabs and the straight-up punches that scream, “Some folks still don’t get it.”
That inner voice that sometimes whispers negative stuff because society’s been shouting it too loud.
That gnawing “what’s next?” feeling, wondering if those around you will stand by or step back.
The hurt of feeling stuck mid-journey, like a paused track, while you’re trying to sync with yourself.
Wanting to enjoy openness and honesty in your relationships, but worrying about which people will be accepting, which ones will misunderstand and which ones might be unsupportive.

Who We Are

why work with daisy + co. therapy

We are ready to help you heal and we have what it takes to get you there. Our therapists are:

Radically Genuine

We are real people who do not take ourselves too seriously but also do not ignore the obvious need to provide qualified help to the kids, teens, and adults who want to build a connection that heals.

Open-Minded

We believe that play and exploration, even (especially) as adults, is an essential part of reconnecting to ourselves and our individual truths. Being open minded allows for growth in ways we never dreamed.

Curious

We get to know our clients through a genuine curiosity to understand them better and connect with them on their level. By asking the right questions, we can uncover answers that help you better understand yourself and the world around you.

Questions about LGBTQ+ and gender affirming therapy

Heck no. We understand that in some cases disclosing your identities to people in your life could put you at risk for increased social and or physical unsafety if not handled appropriately. We will never disclose your identities to loved ones. We will, however, help you work towards telling them yourself if desired or necessary for your overall wellbeing and if it is decided through thorough assessment, discussion, and collaboration with you that that is the safe and right thing to do. It’s your life, your choice, and your identities to disclose or not! Also, confidentiality, homies.
That’s totally ok! We meet you where you are at and help you build clarity around who you are and what it would look like to live your most authentic life. When it comes to identity, not knowing is a perfectly valid place to land, whether temporarily, or as a long-term space of self-exploration and understanding.
Not all of our therapists are queer, trans, or gender nonconforming but a lot of us are! If it’s important to you or your loved one to work with a clinician who is a part of the lgbtq+ community, please let us know at intake.

We do! Ask our Intake Coordinator for more information about this if you are interested.

Yes! We love supporting loved ones in this capacity! Feel free to further discuss what you need with our Intake Coordinator. If your need is outside of our scope of practice, we are happy to provide you with guidance on where you can find the support you need.
As long as you need! We don’t put limits on how long you can come see us, and many people find comfort in knowing that there is a safe place available whenever they need. Our goal is to help you start seeing changes within yourself quickly, and use the tools and strategies you learn in your daily life. How long that takes is a very personal experience and depends on the complexity and extent of the challenges you are dealing with.
